Our review
Analysis written by Valentin for Minecraft Hosts from the plans and information published by MineKeep, checked on October 9, 2026. This is not a hands-on test.
Verdict
MineKeep, run by MineKeep AB, combines free Minecraft hosting with a shared hub lobby where public servers are listed. The free plan is small (1 GB RAM, 10 players, 10 GB) but has no playtime limit: the server hibernates after 5 minutes without players and restarts automatically when someone joins. Paid plans run from 4.99 EUR per month including VAT, but MineKeep publishes no CPU model, storage type or location, and all payments are non-refundable.
Pros
Free plan with no playtime limit and daily backups
Automatic start on join: players wait in the hub lobby
Public servers listed in a shared hub with over 1,000 players online at the time of the check
Prices in euros including VAT, 25% off with yearly billing
Java and Bedrock on the same server through Geyser and Floodgate
Limitations
Free plan limited to 1 GB RAM and 10 player slots
No CPU model, storage type or location published
Only Fabric mods: Forge and NeoForge are not supported
All payments non-refundable
Always-on servers cost about 33% more than hibernating ones
Best for
Small vanilla or plugin servers that want free hosting with automatic start on join
Public servers looking for players through the MineKeep hub
Mixed Java and Bedrock groups
Less suited if
You want to run Forge or NeoForge modpacks
You need to know the CPU and location before paying
You want the option of a refund
Pricing and billing
Prices are in euros including VAT. With hibernation, Village (2 GB) costs 4.99 EUR, City (5 GB) 8.99 EUR, Nation (8 GB) 14.99 EUR and Empire (12 GB) 29.99 EUR per month, from about 1.80 to 2.50 EUR per GB. Always-on versions cost 6.99, 11.99, 19.99 and 39.99 EUR. Yearly billing takes 25% off (3.74 EUR per month for Village). The terms make every payment non-refundable.
Performance
MineKeep only describes CPU power with labels: Shared, Basic, Moderate, Advanced and Powerful CPU. No processor model, core count, storage type or server location is published, so performance cannot be compared from the specifications. Storage goes from 10 GB (Free) to 100 GB (Empire). Servers on the default plans hibernate after 5 minutes without players.
Minecraft features
MineKeep supports Paper and Purpur plugins with a plugin manager (Modrinth, Hangar, SpigotMC), and Fabric mods and modpacks through a mod manager. Forge and NeoForge are not supported. Bedrock players join the same servers through Geyser and Floodgate. Each server gets a name.minekeep.gg address, public servers appear in the hub lobby, and owners can buy in-game ads. Paid plans add monthly backups kept for 75 days and custom domains from City upward.
Support and guarantees
Support is offered through Discord and by email (support@minekeep.net). Daily backups are included on every plan, with one-click restore and download. The terms exclude all refunds and allow account termination for long inactivity. The operator is MineKeep AB, with no published address or founding date.
Plans
Prices as published by the host, checked on October 9, 2026.
Data collected on 9 October 2026 from minekeep.net (home page with pricing and FAQ, terms of service, privacy policy) and docs.minekeep.net (hibernation, adding plugins, adding mods, Medal boosts). The minekeep.gg address redirects to minekeep.net; minekeep.gg is used for server addresses.
Pricing: the home page has a "Hibernate when empty" switch (on by default) and a monthly or yearly billing switch. Prices with hibernation: Village 4.99, City 8.99, Nation 14.99, Empire 29.99 EUR per month. Prices without hibernation ("always up", from the page's pricing script): 6.99, 11.99, 19.99 and 39.99 EUR. Both sets are recorded as two ranges. "All prices include VAT": taxStatus = included.
Yearly billing: "Billed Yearly 25% Off"; the page shows the monthly equivalent (price x 0.75, e.g. 3.74 EUR for Village). The yearly total is not shown, so priceYearly is null and the 12-month offer has no total.
CPU: plans are described only as "Shared CPU" (Free), "Basic CPU" (Village), "Moderate CPU" (City), "Advanced CPU" (Nation) and "Powerful CPU" (Empire). No processor model or core count is published. Storage type and server locations are not published.
Software: Paper and Purpur plugins (plugin manager with Modrinth, Hangar and SpigotMC), Fabric mods and modpacks through the mod manager. The documentation states that only Fabric mods are supported and that Forge and NeoForge mods will not work, hence forge = false and neoforge = false. Bedrock players join through Geyser and Floodgate on the proxy. Cracked accounts cannot connect.
Free plan: 1 GB RAM, 10 player slots, 10 GB storage, shared CPU, daily backups. Hibernation after 5 minutes without players, automatic start on join through the hub (documentation). Paid plans add monthly backups kept for 75 days. A limited-time Medal quest (PC only, new Medal users) can unlock extra RAM for one server; the amount is not stated.
Refunds: the terms state that all payments are non-refundable and that buyers waive the EU 14-day withdrawal right. The operator is MineKeep AB; no address or founding date is published. Support: Discord and support@minekeep.net. The home page also sells in-game ads (from 0.10 EUR per day) and ranks, which are not hosting plans.
