Our review
Analysis written by Valentin for Minecraft Hosts from the plans and information published by FreezeHost, checked on October 9, 2026. This is not a hands-on test.
Verdict
FreezeHost is mainly a free Minecraft host: the default server gets 2 GB RAM, 2 vCPU and 10 GB of storage, with no queue but mandatory hibernation when nobody is online. Extra free resources are unlocked with coins earned by keeping the dashboard open or watching ads. The paid Budget plans in the Netherlands are cheap, from 1.66 USD per month for 2 GB, but they run on an Intel Xeon E5-2673 v3 and the site shows two different price lists.
Pros
Free tier without a queue: 2 GB RAM, 2 vCPU and 10 GB by default
Free resources can grow to 12 GB RAM and 3.5 vCPU with coins
Paid plans from 1.66 USD per month for 2 GB (about 0.83 USD per GB)
NVMe storage, Pterodactyl panel and full FTP access
Bedrock players supported through Geyser
Limitations
Paid plans run on an Intel Xeon E5-2673 v3 (1,692 PassMark single-thread points)
Prices differ between the Minecraft page and the billing portal
Refunds only within 24 hours and only for a defective service
Backups not guaranteed by the terms
No company name or address published
Best for
Small groups who want a free server with no queue and accept a 20 to 30 second wake-up
Players willing to earn coins to get up to 12 GB RAM for free
Very small budgets: 2 GB for 1.66 USD per month on the paid tier
Less suited if
You need strong single-core performance: the paid plans use a Xeon E5-2673 v3
You want guaranteed backups or a clear refund window
You do not want to use Discord or disable your ad blocker
Pricing and billing
The free tier costs nothing and has no queue. The paid Budget plans in the Netherlands cost 1.66 USD (2 GB), 3.32 USD (4 GB), 4.98 USD (6 GB), 6.64 USD (8 GB), 9.95 USD (12 GB) and 13.27 USD (16 GB) per month in the billing portal, about 0.83 USD per GB. The Minecraft page lists lower prices for the same plans (1.50 to 12.00 USD), so the final price should be checked in the cart. Tax is not mentioned and only monthly billing is offered.
Performance
The paid Netherlands plans use an Intel Xeon E5-2673 v3 @ 2.40GHz with 1.25 to 4 vCores and DDR4 RAM. This CPU scores 1,692 points in single-thread on PassMark, which is low for Minecraft. Storage is NVMe, from 5 GB to 100 GB. The free tier CPU model is not stated. Free servers hibernate when empty and take 20 to 30 seconds to wake up.
Minecraft features
FreezeHost uses a customized Pterodactyl panel with full FTP access, a plugin tab and database management. The FAQ says custom JARs, Forge, Fabric and modpacks can be run. Bedrock players can join after installing the Geyser plugin. Free subdomains under freezehost.com are available. Budget plans use a shared IP with a custom port.
Support and guarantees
Support is provided through Discord, announced as 24/7, plus email addresses for billing and legal matters. Refunds are limited to 24 hours after payment and only for a defective service. The terms state that backups are not guaranteed. No company name, address or founding date is published, and the terms are governed by Dutch law.
Plans
Prices as published by the host, checked on October 9, 2026.
Data collected on 9 October 2026 from freezehost.pro (home page, Minecraft page and its plan data file, Premium page, FAQ, hibernation page, terms of service, refund policy), the free dashboard login page (free.freezehost.pro) and the paid billing portal (paid.freezehost.pro, Blesta).
Two different prices for the same plans: the Minecraft page lists the Budget plans at 1.50, 3.00, 4.50, 6.00, 9.00 and 12.00 USD per month (names MC-2GB-EU to MC-16GB-EU), while the billing portal shows "From" 1.66, 3.32, 4.98, 6.64, 9.95 and 13.27 USD for the same specifications (names MC-2GB-NL to MC-16GB-NL). The billing portal prices are recorded, since that is where orders are placed. No tax mention: status "unknown". Only a 1-month billing cycle is shown.
Singapore: the Minecraft page also lists six Singapore plans (2 to 16 GB, 2.00 to 16.00 USD, "1.25 to 4 vCore AMD EPYC 7513 @ 2.6 GHz"), but their order links lead to the billing portal home page and the portal's Minecraft Java category only contains Netherlands plans. They are not recorded. The Premium page also lists Germany among its locations, with no Minecraft plan there.
CPU: the billing portal writes "Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2673 v3 @ 2.40GHz" for the Netherlands plans, with 1.25 to 4 vCores. The FAQ mentions Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC processors for the Budget tier. The free tier CPU model is not stated ("Intel & AMD processors"). The Budget tier uses a shared IP with a custom port.
Player guidance in the billing portal is inconsistent: the 2 GB plan says "Best for 30-40 Players" while the 4 GB plan says "Best for 5-10 Players". No player limit is recorded.
Free tier: 2 GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 10 GB storage by default, up to 12 GB RAM, 3.5 vCPU and 30 GB with coins (home page). Mandatory MSH hibernation, with wake-up on join in 20 to 30 seconds (hibernation page). The free dashboard requires Discord login and blocks ad blockers. Bedrock players can join through the Geyser plugin (FAQ), hence bedrock = true.
Refunds: only within 24 hours of payment and only if the service is defective or not as described; free services are excluded (refund policy). Recorded as refundDays = 1. The terms state that backups are not guaranteed. Support is via Discord, plus two email addresses for billing and legal matters. No company name, address or founding date is published; the terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
