Our review
Analysis written by Valentin for Minecraft Hosts from the plans and information published by PloxHost, checked on October 9, 2026. This is not a hands-on test.
Verdict
PloxHost, run by ZoomingWork LLC since 2015, sells Minecraft servers in two ranges billed in US dollars. Budget costs 1.50 USD per GB on dual Intel Xeon E5-2690 v3 servers, and Extreme costs 4.00 USD per GB on an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 with DDR5 and NVMe. Storage is shown as unlimited on every plan. The main caveats are the old Budget hardware, a refund window of about 24 hours and only three locations.
Pros
Budget plans at 1.50 USD per GB, from 1.50 USD a month for 1 GB
Extreme range on AMD Ryzen 7 7700 with DDR5 and NVMe
Storage shown as unlimited on every plan, under a fair use rule
Wide server software list, including Purpur, Folia, NeoForge and CurseForge modpacks
Support by ticket, email and Discord, announced 24/7
Limitations
Budget runs on Xeon E5 v3 CPUs from 2014, slow per core
Extreme costs 4.00 USD per GB, more than twice the Budget price
No discount for quarterly, semi-annual or annual billing
Refunds only on a valid reason, usually within 24 hours
Only three Minecraft locations: Dallas, New York and Tuusula
Best for
Small vanilla or plugin servers on a tight budget: 3.00 USD a month for 2 GB on Budget
Players in North America: Dallas and New York on Budget, Dallas on Extreme
Server owners who want a wide software choice, from Folia and Purpur to NeoForge
Less suited if
Heavy modpacks on Budget: Xeon E5 v3 cores are slow for the main Minecraft thread
Players who want time to test: refunds usually within the first 24 hours, on a valid reason
Players in Asia, South America or Oceania: no location there
Pricing and billing
Prices are linear. Budget costs 1.50 USD per GB, from 1.50 USD a month for 1 GB to 24.00 USD for 16 GB. Extreme costs 4.00 USD per GB, from 4.00 USD for 1 GB to 64.00 USD for 16 GB. Prices are in US dollars with no tax information. Quarterly, semi-annual and annual billing carry no discount, except the Extreme 2.5 GB plan at 100.00 USD a year. The page advertises "starting at $1.00", but the cheapest plan listed costs 1.50 USD. Two codes are shown on the page, MEGAMC (-33% on Budget) and EXTREMEMC (-20% on Extreme), with no stated duration. A dedicated IP costs 3.50 USD a month.
Performance
Budget runs on dual Intel Xeon E5-2690 v3 servers ("or similar" Xeon E5-2698 v4), with DDR4 ECC and SSD storage. These 2014 and 2016 chips score 1,917 and 2,059 points in single-thread on PassMark, low for Minecraft. Extreme runs on an AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (4,050 points), with DDR5 and NVMe. Its fallback CPU is written as a Ryzen 7 3800X or 3800XT depending on the page (2,709 and 2,797 points). No core count is given and CPU sharing is not described. Storage is unmetered under a fair use rule and the bandwidth is unmetered.
Minecraft features
The order form lists Paper, Vanilla, Spigot, Bukkit, Purpur, Pufferfish, Folia, Sponge, Forge, NeoForge, Fabric and Mohist, the BungeeCord, Waterfall and Velocity proxies, CurseForge modpacks and custom jars. Player slots are unlimited. The PloxPanel is a modified Pterodactyl with SFTP, a plugin manager, a modpack installer and three MySQL databases per server. Budget gets nightly backups and Extreme hourly backups, kept 3 days off-site. Bedrock is sold separately on its own page, and no Geyser option is listed for Java plans.
Support and guarantees
Support is by ticket, email and Discord, announced 24/7. The terms allow a refund only if billing finds a valid reason, usually within 24 hours of the first payment, and only for shared Minecraft hosting. No free trial is published. Minecraft servers are offered in Dallas, New York City and Tuusula (Finland), with DDoS protection at every location. The operator is ZoomingWork LLC, founded in 2015 in Boston, which runs its own network (AS31786) on Hivelocity.

Checked on 2026-10-09 on plox.host (the old domain ploxhost.com redirects there): Minecraft page, Bedrock page, datacenters, PloxPanel, About and terms of service. The Minecraft page loads its plan cards from the site's own stock API (stock-api.plox.host, "budget-minecraft" and "extreme-minecraft"); names, RAM, prices, CPU, storage type, locations and server software were copied from that data.
Currency and tax: prices are shown in US dollars with no mention of tax or VAT. Status "unknown".
Billing cycles: monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual. There is no discount for longer cycles (quarterly = 3 x monthly). One exception: the Extreme Cobblestone plan (2.5 GB) costs 100.00 USD a year instead of 120.00 USD, recorded as a 12-month commitment offer.
Starting price: the page title and the plan description say "starting at $1.00" and "$1.00 USD/GB", but the cheapest plan listed (Budget Sand, 1 GB) costs 1.50 USD a month, i.e. 1.50 USD per GB. The home page says "starting at $1.50".
CPU: Budget shows "Dual Intel Xeon E5-2690v3" with "Or Similar: Dual Intel Xeon E5-2698v4". Extreme shows "Ryzen 7 7700 @ 5.3GHZ"; its alternative is written "Ryzen 7 3800X @ 4.5 GHZ +" on the page and "Ryzen 7 3800XT @ 4.45 GHZ + or better" in the plan data. The plan data is recorded. No core or thread count is given per plan.
RAM: Budget is listed as DDR4 2133 MHz (ECC Registered in the plan data), Extreme as DDR5 4800 MHz. The Bedrock Extreme data lists DDR4 and "Ryzen 7 7700 @ 3.8 GHz / 5.3 GHZ".
Storage: every plan card shows "Unlimited Storage". The FAQ says unmetered storage is not checked unless abused, and the terms set no hard limit on CPU or disk under a fair usage rule (customer-made backups should stay under 50 GB). Budget runs on SSD, Extreme on NVMe.
Locations at checkout: Budget in Dallas, New York City and Tuusula (Finland); Extreme in Dallas and Tuusula. Tuusula is a Hetzner facility near Helsinki (new location id "tuu"). The home page map also shows Frankfurt and Tampa, which are not offered for Minecraft.
Server software at checkout: Paper, Vanilla, Spigot, Bukkit, Purpur, Pufferfish, Folia, Sponge, Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Mohist, BungeeCord, Waterfall, Velocity, CurseForge modpacks and custom jars. No Bedrock or Geyser option is listed for Java plans. Bedrock is sold on a separate page (PocketMine and Vanilla Bedrock, from 2.00 USD for 2 GB on Budget and 3.00 USD for 2 GB on Extreme); these plans are not recorded here.
Backups: Budget is listed with "Nightly Backup" and Extreme with "Hourly Backup". The About page says 3 days of backups are kept, stored off-site. The number of backup slots is not stated.
Panel: PloxPanel, built in-house, described in the FAQ as "a modified version of Pterodactyl", with SFTP, a plugin manager and a modpack installer. A dedicated IP costs 3.50 USD a month.
Promo codes shown on the Minecraft page: MEGAMC (-33% on Budget) and EXTREMEMC (-20% on Extreme). Their duration is not stated and they were not tested.
Refunds: the terms say refunds are given only if billing finds a valid reason, usually within the first 24 hours, and only for shared Minecraft hosting. Recorded as 1 day.
Support and company: tickets, email (support@plox.host) and Discord, announced 24/7. PloxHost is a DBA of ZoomingWork LLC, founded in 2015 in Boston, Massachusetts. The network runs on Hivelocity and PloxHost operates AS31786.
